Trust Plane ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Shopify application.

Information from Shopify Merchants

When you install Trust Plane, we collect:

• Shop information (store name, domain, email, currency, timezone)
• Order information (order numbers, fulfillment status, product details)
• Customer information (names and email addresses for review requests)
• Product information (titles, images, handles)

Information from Review Submitters

When customers submit reviews, we collect:

• Name and email address
• Review content (rating, title, body text)
• Photos and videos uploaded with reviews
• Responses to custom questions
• IP address and browser information (for fraud prevention)

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Send review request emails to customers after order fulfillment
• Display reviews on your storefront
• Generate discount codes for review incentives
• Provide analytics and insights about your reviews
• Detect and prevent spam and fraudulent reviews
• Improve our services and develop new features

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate our service (email delivery, cloud storage, payment processing)
• Integration Partners: When you enable integrations (Google Shopping, Meta Shops, Klaviyo), we share relevant review data
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Storage and Security

We store data on secure servers using industry-standard encryption. Review media (photos/videos) are stored on Cloudflare R2. We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data
• Opt out of marketing communications

Merchants can export and delete data from the app dashboard. Review submitters can request data deletion by contacting the merchant or emailing us directly.

6. GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Economic Area, we process data based on legitimate business interests and contractual necessity. We respond to GDPR data requests within 30 days and have implemented appropriate data processing agreements with our sub-processors.

7. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained while your subscription is active
• After uninstall: Data deleted within 30 days of app uninstallation
• Review data: Reviews may be retained for merchant records unless deletion is requested

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our widgets use minimal cookies for functionality (e.g., remembering helpful vote clicks). We use analytics to understand widget performance. No third-party advertising trackers are used.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
